FOOTHILL FELINES SIF!!

Gulay and Ian Murray in the greater Sacramento, CA area already had a Foothill Felines kitten -- a gorgeous blue spotted beauty named Foothill Felines Mavi. But, the time came when this young couple decided they'd like to add to their family, and provide Mavi with a playmate. Foothill Felines Sif was a natural choice -- Sif is a tawny leopard spotted Bengal, who complemented Mavi's soft coloring beautifully. In August 2002, we received another delightful update letter and some photos of the Murray's ever-growing and extremely clever family!!

"Hi Holly, It's been a very long time since we last talked. In the meantime, we've moved into our new house, I've started a new job and we have 7 month old Wiemeraner puppy. The kitties and Lola get along famously. They are not taking naps together yet but they are still able to cohabitate with zero incidents. I think it has to do with the fact that they are all very intelligent animals. (Weimeraners are a really intelligent dog breed and we all know about Bengal kitties.) Speaking of intelligence, I'd like to tell you a story about what happended with Mavi today; Ian had just showered and was getting dressed; I was a bit lazy so I stayed in bed to read a magazine. A few minutes later I heard a trickling sound in the bathroom. Now, you can imagine my horror as I was thinking my husband had not shut the door!!! Well the sound continued as an amazed Ian stepped out of the bathroom and asked me if I knew where that sound was coming from. I replied no, but that I was relieved it wasn't him. He told me that he had just watched Mavi get up on to the toilet position herself nicely and take a tinkle!! We always knew our cats were clever, we've trained them to come when called and to not climb places they are not supposed to (well, at least when we are not around :-) but never in a million years would I imagine that my little Mavi would learn to potty train herself. We are not aware that Sif is doing this because we have not spotted her but Mavi being the leader in this pack maybe she has followed her and learned? This explains why there were so many unflushed toilets in the house :-))) I thought I'd share this story with you and please feel free to share it with others if you like. They are both such a joy and we have you to thank for!! I've attached some pictures of them; they are both gorgeous and very happy together. Mavi is a mere 9 lbs while Sif is a strapping 12.5lbs! I hope you are all doing well and hope to hear your news as well :-) Gulay, Ian, Mavi, Sif and Lola"
