FOOTHILL FELINES MORGAN!!

As always, the decision to retire Foothill Felines Morgan was an extremely difficult one. She was a large, big-boned girl, with her father's arrowhead rosettes and loving temperament, and the grace and beauty of her mother also. But, she had very intense and long-lasting heat cycles, starting when she was only 4 months old. We did try breeding her several times, but no pregnancy resulted. It did not take long for us to realize that she would be so much happier without her sexual hormones and instincts dictating her behavior, and thus we decided to spay her and find her the great home she deserved, where she would get the affection and attention, get to cuddle and play, and not be surrounded by a breeding environment such as we have here at Foothill Felines.

We had been contacted by a lovely young woman who lived down in Southern California, with her sweet neutered Bengal boy named Shashi. Angela W. knew that Shashi needed a friend, and Morgan and Shashi were almost the same age, also. Angela had the home, time and love to give to Morgan, and Shashi would provide the feline company Morgan was used to. Angela's mother even got involved, and arranged to pay for Morgan in advance for an early Easter present for her daughter!! Angela and her significant other drove all the way up to Sacramento to pick up Morgan in person, and to meet Morgan's parents and extended family. It was a real pleasure to meet these terrific people, and to gain the extra peace of mind of knowing just how purr-fect a fit this was going to be.

We heard from Angela just the very next day, when she wrote: "Just wanted to let you know that Morgan was such a good girl in the car. She is so lovable!! Shashi is not liking her much, but he's starting to get used to her. They fight a little, but she enjoys egging him on. She hisses and hits him, then runs and jumps on our laps and sprawls out like she's queen! She is playing and eating, using the litterbox. She purrs constantly, loving all the attention. She seems very happy, even with Shashi swatting her now and then. She's doing very well in her new home. She is talking all the time and playing with all her toys. They played together for the first time this morning with the fishing fly toy. All four of us took a nap yesterday afternoon... it was quite a sight. Everybody fell asleep on the sofa. Just wanted to drop you and note and tell you how she's doing. Will send you pictures soon. Thanks again and Morgan says "hi"."

About 2 months later, Angela sent us a lovely card with the enclosed photos of Morgan and Shashi!! Angela wrote, "Morgan has completely made herself at home - she and Shashi are getting along great!! They play together, clean each other, etc. She's doing great in her new home and is very happy. I sent you some pictures of both of them (Morgan and Shashi). Morgan has definitely become QUEEN of the house!!"

Foothill Felines Morgan, retired and spayed now, and in a very loving home!
