FOOTHILL FELINES MARTIN & FOOTHILL FELINES MAX JR.!!

Seal Lynxpoint Snow Spotted Bengal Male Martin! Brown Spotted Bengal Male!

"Martin" (upper left) and "Max Jr." (upper right) reside in Northern California with their new mommy and daddy David and Vickie B. These two are absolutely stunning Bengal kittens, and from one of our favorite breeding pairs. Proud sire is Simbaspride 'Major' Mews of Foothill Felines, and their wonderful mother is Starbengal Vida Mia of Foothill Felines. These 2 kittens couldn't look much more different, and always did, and their personalities are also likewise very different from each other. Martin is an absolutely exquisite blue-eyed seal lynxpoint snow Bengal, who was always the largest in the litter. Max Jr. has incredible white spectacles and wild markings around his face, and both have gorgeous rosettes. David and Vickie spent lots of time with them at our cattery while they were small, and the bonding had already started way before they brought little Max Jr. and Martin home.

A few days after bringing home their boys, I got a great update email from David: "Hi Holly, we're having a ball with those two little guys!!! They are having so much fun chasing each other and climbing the cat tree and playing with their toys. They were a little shy the first day, but they got over that in a hurry. Martin has become a fearless hunter, and both boys like the toy with the ball that goes round the circle. I think the pheasant feather is the favorite, however; we really have fun with that. They are climbing and jumping and tumbling around (usually one on top of the other). When they get tired, they like to snuggle. We think they are very happy. And, we are happy too!!! No problems to report. We'll keep you posted on their progress. David and Vickie"

Here is another of the first update emails from this delightful family: "Hi Holly, just thought you might like to know that both boys are doing fantastic after one week in their new home!!. They are very well adjusted and have been exploring their new home, room by room. We had a little problem initially with loose stools but we added the IAMS hairball to their Innova and the problem went away. They are eating well and drinking a lot of water and growing like weeds!! Martin is very loveable and also very inquisitive. Max is an Olympic quality athlete and can climb anything. He is also becoming very loveable and started to purr yesterday. Martin has been purring loudly from day one. We have quiet time with the kitties every night before they go to bed, and they will both snuggle with us for a half an hour or more without becoming restless. They are becoming very confident in their new surroundings, and have great fun playing with their toys, racing around the house, play fighting with each other, and chasing each other up and down their cat tree. They adjust easily to visitors like Vickie's mom and her friend Carol, and George, our handyman. We love the little guys and they have already become part of the family. I've been taking some video of them, but will take some still shots soon; I'll send you a couple so you can see how big they are getting. We have one question on food: they didn't seem to be all that fond of their wet food and we thought it might have been part of their problem when they had their loose stools, so we cut it out for a few days. Should we start feeding them the wet food again? They don't seem to miss it, but maybe it has some ingredients they need; if so, we will start feeding them the wet food again. What do you think? By the way, they didn't seem to like their litter box so we let them try the Clever Cat, and they adapted to it immediately. They have no problem getting in or out and seem to really like it. They are very smart kitties, and very athletic. Anyhow, all is well and Max Jr and Martin seem to be really happy and content. Hard to believe they are only 10 weeks old. We'll keep you posted."

And not too long later: "Hi Holly, Max Jr. and Martin are three months old today!! They have really grown in the last month and have become true members of the family. They are inseparable. Martin is the confident and adventuresome kitty. Max is right behind him. Max is the athlete, which allows him to hold his own in the daily play fighting with Martin, who is much bigger. Martin's spots are starting to show, especially in his hind quarters. Both he and Max are gorgeous kittens. Both are very loveable and like to snuggle with us when they get tired in the evening. We are very happy with them. They have plenty of room to play. We are feeding them the Innova EVO (in the cans) in the morning, and they love it. Of course, they always have their Innova dry food with the supplement, which they also like a lot. They get lots of exercise and sleep through the entire night. So, all is going well with our Bengal boys. On Monday, they will be visiting Dr. Metzler in Orangevale for shots and a checkup. I'll send you a copy more photos at 3 months old in a separate email. Hope all is well." And after their vet visit, David reported: "Hi Holly, Max Jr. and Martin visited Dr.Metzler today and were pronounced healthy and beautiful!! Martin is 5 lbs 14 oz. and Max is 5 lbs 9 oz, which is surprising since he looks so much smaller than Martin. They are both doing terrific. I saw a picture of a Margay recently, and was wondering if Major has some Margay in him; I think you mentioned once that he had some wild cat ancestry other than just Asian Leopard Cat. The picture of the Margay I saw had a coat that looked very close to Max Jr.'s. Very beautiful!!"
