FOOTHILL FELINES MADOLYN OF BAJU BENGALS!!

Judy Brodland and her husband Bart love animals and live in beautiful Washington state. Judy had wanted a special female kitten for breeding to her spectacular Bengal male Raider, and was hoping for a female out of Foothill Felines Metallica and Junglebook Megan of Foothill Felines. We had just the kitten for her in our August 19, 2001 litter -- a stunning rufoused kitten with beautiful, large rosettes, and a personality that just could not be beat. We kept this kitten here with us a couple of extra months while Judy and Bart dealt with some difficult family health issues, and sent her to her new home in January 2002. We got to speak with both Judy and Bart several times on the phone; we knew that this kitten, whom we had been calling "Little Girl", fetched like crazy. Most of our Bengals DO fetch; yet most of them have special toys that they like to fetch. Not so, Little Girl!! She fetched EVERYTHING!!! We told Judy and Bart about this, and during one of our phone calls, Judy informed me that Little Girl was busy fetching a feather duster larger than she was, with it hanging out one side of her mouth!!!! Another misadventure was Little Girl getting in to Judy's honey jar.....

In June 2002, we had a nice long letter from Judy and pictures!! "Dear Holly, MY GOSH I didn't mean to be such a stranger. I ran in here and decided that NOW is when I'm going to tell that sweet soul that I am still in love with my little girl and that she is unbelievable. We had to disconnect a family member from life support last month so things have been very sad and distressing. My parents are in good health but my mom had a neurological scare - she has an odd vessel in her brain which has caused some problems but thank God is not life threatening. Then my computer was disabled - McAfee and all - by a virus which caused serious migraines so I didn't want to infect anyone else until I got that taken care of. A trip to Colorado in May, and Bart and I bought a farm yesterday and are scheduling our move, then we need to sell this house. I'm out of breath just thinking about all this. "

"Madolyn (Little Girl) is beyond belief. I have never ever encountered a pet of any kind that is so darling, so loving, so smart, so sweet. You should see how beautiful she is. I just got a digital camera and will send you some pics. For some reason I'm having trouble attaching them to emails so I will forward them individually after I dispatch this. I remember in our discussion by phone, you told me that holding a Bengal back may induce repro problems down the road such as cysts, etc. You had seen her through her first cycle, so when she came into heat in late spring, I let Raider and she have several "dates." She is due with her first litter on June 20th and she is so darling and sweet. I am pampering her and making sure she gets lots of good nutrition. I am still in awe over her breathtaking appearance. And you can't help but kiss that little sweetheart - she is so loving and friendly and engaging!! Will write more soon, okay? I love this picture (the first one) - it's my favorite of her because it looks like a portrait. And of all places, it's in my laundry room on top of the dryer!! Isn't that funny? Also, she is a really big girl. We called our cattery Baju for Bart-Judy; thought you might like to know where it came from. Baju is also an Indonesian (I think) word for "fabric." Incidentally, Madolyn is named after a beautiful actress named Madolyn Smith (she was in 'Urban Cowboy', the movie with John Travolta). Love, Judy"
