Malamute was born on August 12, 2002, and came to us here at Foothill Felines at 6 months of age!! We want to express our thanks to Phil Mireles of Spothaven Bengals and Deborah Arsich of Bellbooknbengal for letting us have this gorgeous silver spotted boy!! And, we also wish to thank Katja Jacob for coming up with the purr-fect name for our handsome new Foothill Felines stud!!

We are very excited to see what this beautiful boy can produce in our cattery. He is a silver spotted full SBT Bengal, with an outstanding face and head (beautiful round small ears, big eyes that look liked they are lined in eyeliner, and lovely puffy whiskerpads); he has outstanding big, open rosettes on both sides with a flowing horizontal and random pattern, and at 6 months old, he weighed in at a muscular 9.5 pounds!! His tail is very thick and plush, and he is truly a full package of elegance. Add to that his extra sweet temperament, and it's easy to see why Malamute is the perfect choice here at Foothill Felines to join our breeding program.
Silver genetics in Bengal cats are still relatively new to the breed. Malamute was our first silver Bengal and he made major contributes to our Bengal breeding program (and he also sired some magnificent Savannahs for us too). The silver color gene (it is actually an "inhibitor" gene which is supposed to keep the
brown colors from showing up. It is a dominant gene, as is the brown color gene, so it can get very interesting. The snow genes, and blue and black color genes (the dilutes) are considered recessive genes. Check our website often for updates about Malamute and the status of silver Bengals.
