Foothill Felines Bengals/Savannahs
The medium-sized Fishing Cat is closely related to the Asian Leopard Cat and lives along rivers, brooks and mangrove swamps throughout Indochina, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Sumatra and Java. Since it is an excellent swimmer and enjoys being in the water, this cat is extremely well adapted to this habitat. The Fishing Cat hunts about 10 different species of fish, and also other aquatic animals such as frogs or crayfish, and land dwelling small animals such as rodents and birds. Like other mammals who live in semi-aquatic regions, the unique inter-digital webbing on its paws help the Fishing Cat have better traction for successful hunting in muddy environments and in the water.
